I don’t know about you but I would love to ride to work every day. It’s good for your health and good for the environment and I reckon I could probably ride to work almost a quick as driving since I would avoid most of the traffic. The problem is…
Now I compete in triathlons and adventure racing so I spend a lot of time on a bike so it’s not a lack of gear or fitness that stops me riding to work – the only thing stopping me from riding to work for my daily commute is really a lack of showers at the office. Personally I don’t think it is particularly cool turning up to a meeting with a client smelling like a pair of funky bike shorts.
This is where I think personal electric transport comes into its own for us urbanites wanting to live more sustainably but not wanting to turn up to the office drenched in sweat each day.
My daily commute is by electric bike. It’s great. I’m close enough that I’d just use a regular bike, if I didn’t live up an 850 ft climb. The electric bike makes it fast, easy but still great exercise. No parking issues, no traffic, no sick people coughing on me, fresh air, don’t need to kill time at a gym. Even with the hills, it’s about 62 miles per kWh. Charge at my desk at work for free. by speed_rabbit via reddit 6 February 2016
Electric bikes, electric scooters, and electric skateboards have come a long way in recent years with improvements in battery technology and are a real solution to urban commuting.
With some personal electric transport you can cruise to work on electric power without breaking a sweat and if it is fitness you are after then you can just ride home unassisted.
Here are some personal electric transport options you could consider depending on how far you need to commute each day.
Up to 10 miles (16km)

It comes with a wireless remote but the Yuneec E-GO electric skateboard also offers an all-in-one control package in the form of an iPhone app that allows you to connect to your electric skateboard via Bluetooth.
